Pupil Premium Grant

The Staff at Sidbury CE Primary School are committed to ensuring all children achieve their potential.  We are all aware of the research showing disadvantaged children often fall behind their peers, achieving lower grades throughout their education.  This is known as an “attainment gap” and the purpose of the Pupil Premium Grant (PPG)  is to “narrow the gap”.

As a result of the evidence, the government introduced the PPG in April 2011.  There are many ways to measure disadvantage, but the government has chosen the measure of free school meals in this instance.  All schools receive additional funding for all pupils who have been entitled to free school meals at any time in the previous 6 years.

The PPG can be used in many ways and schools are now expected to provide the evidence of how they have used their PPG, and the impact it has had.  The information below shows how we have done this at Sidbury CE Primary School.
