Remembrance Service

Community Ethos Team Events

On Friday 11th November at 11am we joined members of the Church and general public for a Remembrance Service in St Giles’ Churchyard.  The service was lead by Reverend Susie Williams with songs from the school and prayers written and read by some of our Year 6 children.  A two minute silence was observed at 11am to remember all those who have died in wars around the world.

Some of our Key Stage 2 children have been involved in planning and designing the new playground at The Byes, Sidford.  the disigns have now been decided and work will start shortly on this exciting new venture!

On Thursday 28th January, our Ethos Team; Charlotte, Dominic, Eleanor, Lily, Poppy and Xavi visited Sidmouth Pirmary School along with other Ethos Teams from our Learning Community and the Primary Academies Trust.  they were the human form of the Christian value ‘Friendship’.  They participated in many varied activities throughout the day led by staff and parents.

Rotary Club – Youth Speaks

Pressing issues such as Food Waste, Ivory Poaching and The Written Word were amongst the Topics shared at the Second Round of the Rotary Club Youth Speaks competition last night. We are delighted to announce that the Sidbury Speaking Guru’s Maisie Lyon, James Allen and Owen Foster, with their backstage supporters Edward Walker and Sky Rowbotham, WON this round with their captivating performance, which was highly praised by the judges and many members of the audience. This win takes them through to the Devon Final next Saturday where we wish them well. There were very proud parents and staff in the audience and they kindly thanked Mrs Todd, Mrs Sells and Mrs Laver for their support! Well done TEAM, you should be very proud of this achievement!

Community Ethos Team SMSC

The whole school joined the Reverend Susie Williams, members of the Royal British Legion and people from the village to remember the men and women who have died for our country.  A 2 minute silence was observed before  poems written and read by Owen Foster, Holly White and James Allen and the whole school joined together to sing  2 songs.
