Y4 visit to Wildside

Last week year 4 went to Wildside. They had a fantastic time, with the children displaying a range of skills and learning powers.  A lot of children showed great leadership skills whilst orienteering in the woods, looking for stamps.  The children showed great perseverance and friendship whilst on the night walk, encouraging each other through difficulties. They made their way up a hill, playing games with glow sticks and also followed a rope trail through a bog and very muddy puddles! They learned a lot about wildlife and creatures in the woods. They also showed how good they were with a bow during archery, with all the children being successful, despite initial worries and brilliant determination. The children impressed the adults with all with their attitudes and kindness to each other.  For some children it was their first time away in a tent, without their parents which was equally very exciting. They all found great attributes in themselves and in others.

Forest School

A big thank you to Mrs Ratcliff for coming in to school on Fridays to do Forest School with our younger pupils.  Today was very exciting as they lit the fire pit and toasted marshmallows.  Some of our Year 6 pupils were there to help the younger ones with their toasting!

Sponsored Walk and Run

On Friday 23rd February the PTFA organised a sponsored walk and run to raise money to buy equipment for our new classroom which will hopefully commence building in the Easter holidays.  The sun shone as the whole school set off on the 1.7km up to Sidbury Manor and back.  Many parents, grandparents and friends joined us for the walk and run.  Thank you to all those who have supported this event and we hope to raise somewhere in the region of £1500. What  an amazing effort by everyone who took part and who has supported this event in any way.

Uganda Playground Project

On Thursday this week we all dressed in our sportswear to raise money for the Ugandan Playground project we are supporting this year.  We raised £105  towards the project.  Mrs Vicarage also held a cake sale at the end of the day which was so popular she  is going to do another one next week!

Easter Egg Hunt

On the last day of the Spring Term the PTFA organised another Easter Egg Hunt in the school grounds.  The children hunted for laminated eggs including a gold and silver egg.  Prizes were awarded to the children who found the gold and silver eggs and to the person who collected the most eggs.
