Sidbury’s local Governing Body consists of a group of individuals with the school’s best interests at heart.

Our Local Governing Body consists of:

Parent Governors: Joe Kent and Carolyn Henderson

Community Governors: Sir John Cave

Foundation Governors: Reverend Susie Williams and Pam Ward

Staff Governors: Helen Nicholls, Charlotte Hill and Clare Bedford

Governor Term of Office: Terms of Office

Governor Terms of Reference: Terms of Reference

Each of the Governors have a lead role within the LGB, these are allocated as follows:

Chair: Reverend Susie Williams

I am the Chair of the Governing Body and also the vicar of the Parish. I am frequently present in school and in the community. Once a fortnight I lead an act of Collective Worship in St Giles’ Church as well as meet and greet parents on the slope!

Safeguarding Governor: Sir John Cave

My family has had close connections with Sidbury village and its School for very many years.  Living here and with a keen interest in the community allows me the opportunity to be a Governor and assist the School where ever I possibly can.

Health and Safety Governor: Pam Ward

I moved permanently into the village in 2008 when I retired from a career in the National Health Service. I have two children and two grandsons. Sidbury is a special village and I have serviced as Churchwarden at St Giles’ Church for 6 years. I enjoy being involved in the village activities; I am a member of the drama group and play badminton.  Being a Local Governor is an honour as I feel the school and the children are our future and it very special to be part of that ensuring they achieve the best.

Website Compliance Governor: Joe Kent

I am a parent of two children at the school and a GP in a nearby area. I am particularly interested in nutrition, health and activity. I hope to help utilise our amazing geographical position to our children’s broad educational advantage.

SEND Governor: Carolyn Henderson

I am a parent Governor with three children at the school across both Key Stages. I have always had a keen interest in education, in particular Literacy, and believe every child is entitled to maximise their potential. I feel privileged to be part of the parent voice on the governing body to support the school in ensuring our children get the very best educational experiences and opportunities they can.

Clerk for the LGB: Lucy Poole

I have been Clerk to the Local Governing Body of Sidbury Cof E Primary School for 4 years and am also Clerk for five other schools within The Primary Academies Trust.  I have two children and a keen interest in education – coupled with my administration skills I feel I am placed well to assist Governors hard work to achieve the best outcomes for children in this school.

School Governors: Helen Nicholls, Executive Headteacher; Charlotte Hill, Head of School and Clare Bedford, Teacher.

Message from Helen Nicholls:

It is a privilege to be the Executive Head Teacher of Sidbury Primary School. As a founding member of The Primary Academies Trust I truly value partnership working. It is our belief that schools that work together within and beyond our Multi Academy Trust are stronger. They offer robust challenge and support to each other which enables our school leaders to provide both the highest quality educational provision to the children in their care, and preserve all that is unique and special about the local community that the school serves.
