School Starters 2023

Choosing a school for your child can be an exciting and sometimes daunting decision to make.  Our website will hopefully give you a raft of information to support your decision, however, the most powerful tools that you have at your disposal are to call the school and arrange a visit in person.  To arrange a visit or discussion with the the Headteacher, Miss Hill, please telephone the school office on 01395 597279 or email sidbury@ventrus.org.uk.

Please do get in touch if you are interested in joining our Sidbury family.  In the meantime we hope that you will enjoy exploring our website and videos.

Key Information

We currently have 174 children on roll across 7 classes, with one class per year group.  All of our teachers know the children across the whole school. We encourage children to work and play across the school, forming cherished relationships, which supports and nurtures the development of younger children but also provides the older children with leadership opportunities and the chance to shine as a role model to others.

Our key school aim is that all children and families feel welcomed into the school community, where we all work together to allow all children to thrive and grow in self-confidence enabling academic success.

Our school has many annual traditions which we are very proud of; these include whole school annual May Day and Sports Day, as well as EYFS and Key Stage 1 performances at Christmas and Key Stage 2's performance at the Manor Pavilion.  Certain year groups also have opportunities to take part in residential visits to places like Grenville House in Brixham and Wildside Experience in Hemyock, balance bike courses, swimming, dance classes and so much more.  Our year 6 children also take part in the Exmoor Challenge, which is a 16 mile walk across Exmoor, following a series of training walks in our local area of outstanding natural beauty.

We are fortunate to be part of Ventrus Multi-Academy Trust, where we retain our unique school character, traditions and ethos, whilst utilising opportunities to work collaboratively, for example teachers and Headteachers liaising across schools for network meetings and the close work with our HR and Finance Teams.
